I am 18 years old, and was diagnosed with Chronic Prostatitis yesterday. What does this mean for my future? Should I keep a closer eye on my prostate? Does this inhibit prostate cancer?

Diagnosed by a urologist after two urine cultures and four urine tests.
Put on Bactrim for two weeks, and now Cipro for three months.
Pain when urinating, dribbling after, etc.

I was told by my doc that this should not affect you in the long term. However, i believe that it would increase the risks for BPH atleast.

I was diagnosed when i was 23.
