Hey guys, I'd just like to share my story and hopefully find out some helpful info on this site. My prostatitis started in December 2009. I am only 24 years old and astonished that I am having trouble with my prostate. My main symptom is a CONSTANT feeling of pressure in my rectum, as if a golf ball or inflated balloon is in there. I have been dealing with this for about 5 months now and see no end in sight. I've had 2 prostate massages, the first time i didn't notice any difference, the second massage really hurt me. The enitre week after the pressure in my rectum was at a 10 and constant all day. I have been on 3 rounds of antibiotics (Bactrim, doxycycline, Cipro), and about to start a last dose of doxycylcine (for 3 months) before i give in and have a cystoscopy. Back in December and January i had alot of trouble starting my urine flow, sometimes i even had to sit to start a stream. I also had the urge to go about every 15 minutes. Thank GOD i have been free from those two symptoms within the last couple of months. I guess Im here to find out a couple answers. How young, or what's the youngest age male you've heard of being diagnosed with chronic prostatitis??
Also, my urologist keeps pushing me to get a cystoscopy done, incase of a urinary stricuture. How many of yall have actually found a urinary stricture to be causing the problem? I'm so anxious and nervous about having to get a cystoscope, my urologist is old school and he believes in using a rigid cystoscope.. Is it even worth the time and money to get a second opinion?? I'm not sexually active,so i know it's not something i did.
I'm at such a loss here, lately there have been days were I'm so overwhelmed with my situation at my young age that i just start crying. I fear that i will have to live with this the rest of my life.
Any thoughts or responses would be very helpful. Thanks alot guys and I hope there is an end to all of our suffering in the near future.
